Junior Assistant Accountant / Accounts Officer - 6 months contract

Our client, a market-leading organisation within the Consumer Electronics sector, is seeking a Junior Assistant Accountant / Accounts Officer to join their finance team on a fixed-term contract covering a period of paid parental leave. Location: Marsden Park, NSW Hours: Full-time, 8:00am - 4:00pm (30-minute lunch break) Contract: Fixed-term (approx. April/May 2026 - October 2026) Salary: $62,000 - $68,000 + super (commensurate with experience) This role is well suited to a junior accountant or accounts professional looking to build practical experience within a structured, supportive, and professional finance team. About the Role Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will work closely with a collaborative accounts team that includes a Graduate Accountant and Accounts Payable Officers. The role focuses on core transactional accounting and finance support tasks, offering valuable exposure to month-end processes and reporting. Key Responsibilities Daily bank reconciliations Monthly credit card reconciliations Assisting with month-end close, including accruals, prepayments, and journals Assisting with month-end reporting Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc accounting tasks Supplier setup reviews, AR requests, and reclassification queries About You Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance preferred, however candidates with strong accounts experience will be considered Minimum 1 year of local experience in an Accounts Officer, Assistant Accountant, or similar finance role Sound understanding of basic accounting principles and cost codes Strong attention to detail and accuracy Professional, reliable, and comfortable working within a close-knit team The Team & Culture You'll be joining a friendly and respectful finance team known for their calm, supportive, and approachable working style.
