Candidates - Questions?

Who can register on EarlyCareerZ?

Anyone! Whether you're a current student, recent graduate or making a career change or consider yourself early in your career, whatever the discipline. Local and international university students are both welcome.

What do I need to do?

Basically it's creating your profile from drop-down selections for your educational background, any work experience (career and non-career related), interests/achievements and role/employer preferences. Plus self-record a 60 seconds video. Once you login you'll find simple online instructions.

What type of employer uses EarlyCareerZ?

All size of employers from companies to government and not-for-profit organisations. The diversity of employers means their needs are different. They're not all looking for the same type of candidate, which you typically see in large graduate and intern programs. That's good news, because you're all not competing for the same roles.

How likely am I to get a job?

There are no guarantees. But if ten minutes of your time gets you into the mix, we think that's a smart investment. Remember, the power of adding a 60 second video. Some employers only look at candidates with a video because they want to get a sense of who you are and likely fit with their team.

Should I still apply through job boards?

Yes you can. It's your choice - the easy way, or the hard way.

What data does an employer see?

They can view your profile and contact details (email and mobile) and video. Note, they do NOT see any gender or diversity data if you chose to provide it in your profile. Employers are vetted and bound by our data privacy policy, restricting their use of candidate data for the sole purpose of recruitment.

Why do you say not to add a resume?

Our intent is that EarlyCareerZ is a safe and trusted platform for its users. Sometimes, candidates provide unnecessary personal information in their resume such as date of birth, address or for international students a visa number. While we vet employers using the site, we want to minimise any risk of misuse and protect your privacy. That’s why we focus on structured profiles that only include relevant career and education information.

This also helps create a fairer, more consistent experience for all candidates.

How does an employer contact me?

Employers contact you directly by mobile or email. They let you know who they are and will tell you about their opportunity.

I don't want an employer to have my contact details. How does that work?

When you create your profile, you are asked if you consent to share your contact details (email and mobile) with vetted employers. You can accept or decline. If you decline, any relevant work opportunities will come to you via email sent by EarlyCareerZ, outlining the opportunity and the employer. You can choose to respond directly to the employer if you're interested.

What if I'm not interested in a job with an employer?

That's OK. Just decline and that's it.
